The QuantumCast Console enables you to configure all components and process of the QuantumCast platform according to your wishes. All activities from the QuantumCast Console will be automatically implemented by the QuantumCast platform.

Besides the management of the components the QuantumCast Console also allows an extensive overview over the technical status of every streaming component.

Via our interfaces all data of the QuantumCast Console are available at all times. Players, apps and media centers can be directly notified about new channels and changed channels. New audio contents can be made available immediately and automatically for existing apps of radio stations.

The source can be received via PUSH or GET. Every stream can be configured between PUSH or GET individually in the QuantumCast Console

Additional source formats can be configured individually on the QuantumCast Console:

  • ·       Bitrate: 16 kBit/s to 320 kBit/s

The following triggers (e.g. for advertisements) can be handed over with the source:

The transcoding process is part of the supply chain of listener mounts. With the request of a listener mounts a fully automated transcoding will be started when necessary.


Listener Mounts


The QuantumCast platform can provide any number of listener mounts for a source. The request of deployment is done via the QuantumCast Console. The transcoding will be calculated and provided automatically according to the differences between source and listener mounts.

Following streaming formats are recommended:

  •        MPEG-1 Layer 3 (mp3), 192 kBit/s, 44.1 kHz, Stereo
  •        MPEG-1 Layer 3 (mp3), 128 kBit/s, 44.1 kHz, Stereo
  •        MPEG-4 HE-AAC (aac+), 64 kBit/s, 44.1 kHz, Stereo

Additional listener mounts can be configured individually on the QuantumCast Console:

  •        Bitrate: 16 kBit/s to 320 kBit/s
  •        Samplingrate: 16 kHz to 48 kHz
  •        Mono & Stereo
  •        Codecs: MP3, AAC, AAC+, MP3.VBR
  •        Metadata: RAW, ICY

StreamURLs and their distribution channels are the most important ways of distributing digital radio channels on the internet. Their systematic processing is important and plays a major role in the daily business of radio stations. The systematics and visualization is done according to the following scheme:


The StreamURLs can be configured individually on the QuantumCast Console.

Additional parameters can be handed over. Those can also be configured via the QuantumCast Console.




All services of the QuantumCast platform are delivered via HTTPs. HTTPs is the new standard. The required X.509 certificates are provided without additional costs or effort. The QuantumCast platform certifies customer domains via Let's Encrypt.




The QuantumCast platform distinguishes between two types of channels for metadata

  1. Broadcast metadata-Channel
    Is used for classic live streaming - a uniform audio signal is being distributed to as many listeners as possible. Metadata are practically identical for all listeners.
  2. Personalised metadata-channel
    Is used for skippable, personalized radio. Every listener will received their own metadata

The metadata-interface supports the following ways to transmit metadata with the source:

The metadata will be transmitted via:

  • ·       Audiostream / ICY
  • ·       Websockets / streamABC-Playerservice
  • ·       Json / streamABC-Playerservice

Metadaten can trigger the following forms of advertisements:
